The Social and Cultural Register

The social and cultural register deals with the place of the site within our culture and society. It considers what the buildings and gardens mean, their symbolic and historic significance, their relationships to other buildings and monuments in the environs, from the Phoenix Park to the Memorial Gardens. It considers how the role of the site in everyday live, , looking at how the museum engages with the surrounding communities and how those communities make use of the landscape and gardens. It considers the place of the site within the current narratives of the city which emphasise heritage and tourism as well as sustainable future growth.
